Some key players in the expedition

William Clark: He was a captain in the expedition, he also was a planter and a slave holder.

Meriwether Lewis: He was also a captain in the expedition, he also was a public administrator and a politician.

Charles Floyd: He was a sergeant in the expedition, he also a non commissioned officer in the lewis and clark expedition.

Richard Warfington: He was a corporal in the expedition, he also oversaw the precious cargo on board.

John Potts: he was a private in the expedition, he also was a german immigrant.

Expedition accomplishments

1- They recorded that the land was ready for agriculture

2- Lewis and clark recorded the observations of longitude and latitude

3- They studied new animals

Hardships/dilemmas faced in the expedition

Grizzly bears were are a hardship that lewis and clark faced because they didn't know how to control them, and they were getting attacked by them.
Mosquitoes are a hardship because they could carry disease if they bite them.
Native Americans are a hardship because if they come across them they could be killed and they loose stuff because they need to trade.

Plant and animal species discovered along the journey

Bull snakes were discovered by lewis and clark during there journey.
Coyote's were found later in the expedition probably in about the second year.
The Great blanket flower was probably founded by Meriwether Lewis

The route taken by the Lewis and Clark expedition

They traveled up the mississippi river to the western mountains and if possible (Which it was) They traveled to the pacific ocean. The first expedition to search this route.

Items or tools taken on the journey

They took and created maps along the journey.
They used the kentucky rifle while they were out in the wilderness.
They took 193 pounds of portable soup which was used for long periods of time because they lasted longer than regular soup.
