CSCSHC Community Newsletter May 17, 2019

Welcome to the CSCSHC Community Newsletter. This bimonthly publication is intended to keep you up-to-date with all that is happening in and around the school district. We want to share all the great things our staff and students are doing in our classrooms and community. We look forward to sharing our stories of student success, achievement, participation in arts and athletics, and a commitment to philanthropy. We are "New Pal Proud" of our students for achieving their personal best in pursuit of excellence!

Message from the Superintendent

Since this is our final Community Newsletter of 2018-19, I want to thank each and every one of you for support and during this school year. Parent involvement is crucial to child development and we all feel incredibly lucky to have this town and community here to support our students.

Thanks also go to our incredible teachers, administrators, and support staff. It takes a village to educate your children each and every day. We are very grateful to everyone that works at Southern Hancock for the role they play in the success of our schools.

Congratulations to the Class of 2019. We are so proud of all of you and wish each of you good luck after you leave.

I hope all of you have a great summer. We'll see you in August for the start of 2019-2020.

- Dr. Lisa Lantrip

Senior Exit Interviews Recap

NPHS seniors conducted their Senior Exit Interviews last month.

2019-2020 Transportation Change Forms

If you already have a Transportation Change Form on file from this year, your form will carry over for the 2019-2020 school year. You do NOT need to file a new form for next year if you have one on file already.

If you know you will need our buses to take your student to an address other than home in 2019-2020 and do not have a Transportation Change Form already on file, please visit the Transportation Changes page on our website and submit a form to your school's front office at your earliest convenience.

NPI Passion Project

Our New Palestine Intermediate fifth-grade students have been working on Passion Project assignments. We would like to share one in particular with you.

In memory of her grandmother, Mattingly Tiede-White chose to create a donation drive to create care packages for ALS patients. Through her hard work, she was able to collect enough materials for 100 care packages! These packages included some words of encouragement, bracelets, a quilt, and special socks with "I Am Strong" printed on them.

"This project is important to me knowing that I am giving comfort, courage and strength to 100 patients who may feel like they have lost all hope," Mattingly said. "My Grammy found simple joy from the little things and I am hoping this act of kindness wrapped in a gift bag will bring joy, as well."

Great job on an incredible project!
