This is a free 2.5-day online workshop by Adobe during the April 2021 school holidays for Vic & NSW Government secondary students (Year 9 and higher) and teachers who are keen develop their video editing skills with Adobe Premiere Pro.

- Day 1 – Monday April 12 (9.30 AM to 3.30 PM)
- Day 2 – Wednesday April 14 (9.30 AM to 3.30 PM)
- Day 3 – Friday April 16 1 PM to 3.30 PM (Showcase event)
Teachers must register their students

Location – This workshop will be run via the BlueJeans online conferencing system. Reasonable Internet access is required. The link will be sent to each teacher who registers.
Presenter – Dr Tim Kitchen (Adobe’s Senior Education Specialist, APAC). Tim has had over 30 years of experience as an educator and video producer.
No prior knowledge of Premiere Pro is required to do this course however access to at least Premiere Pro version 12 (2017) or higher and a computer with the following specs is required:
- - Apple OS 9, 10 or 11 or Windows 10 (64-bit)
- - Minimum 8 GB RAM
Participants will need reasonable Internet access
What will be covered
- - Telling a video story
- - Gathering, managing & importing video, still image & audio assets
- - Simple edits and transitions
- - Mixing audio
- - Applying and adjusting video/audio effects
- - Creating custom graphics and texts
- - Simple animation options
- - Working with third party templates
- - Colour grading
- - Exporting for various outputs
Showcase event
During the Showcase event, participants will be encouraged to share a 1-minute video that they have made during the week of the workshops.
The following prizes will be awarded to the best student videos as determined by the teachers and Adobe experts based on a set criteria.
- 1st prize – iPad Air ($900) & Apple Pencil ($200) & 12 months of Adobe Stock ($480)
- 2nd prize - DJI Pocket Gimble & camera ($600) & 12 months of Adobe Stock ($480)
- 3rd Prize – Smart Phone Gimble ($230) & 3 months of Adobe Stock ($120)
