News from Mrs. Shire

Parents: Many students have been borrowing our Library books - even if it is not their Library rotation. Library books can be returned at ANY TIME to either the Main Office, or your child can drop them off at the Library.

New books can also be requested at any time using the form in their Library Google Classroom. I will either hand deliver or email the virtual students when their book requests are ready for pick-up. I try to do delivery/pickups every other week.

Happy Reading,

Mrs. Shire

Third Grade

Thank you to our Homeroom Coordinators for organizing the Virtual Valentine's Day parties for our grade level. It's amazing what you all put together for us to make these parties so much fun. Thank you to all of our generous families for your donations towards our Community Service Learning Project. Please be sure to send in the cards that your child made so we can include them with the breakfast bags that Mrs. Follman and her volunteers put together for our community.

Fourth Grade

The 4th graders really enjoyed our virtual Valentine's Day activities. They made beautiful cards during our meetings. Please remind your children (if they are in Hybrid) to return their card(s) on their days they're in the building this week or next. For those children who are fully virtual, please drop off their card(s) at your earliest convenience. Just ask the office to leave them in your child's teacher's mailbox.

This week we'll be finishing up Unit 4 in Everyday Math and we will be testing by the end of next week. There are many ways to help your child prepare for these unit tests. Use Pages 1 and 2 in their Unit 4 pink practice book. Since it's an even number unit, they will also be taking a Cumulative Review test (from all units 1-4) as well. Your child's teacher will announce specific dates for the tests.

Be on the lookout for another pick up/drop off day next week for our fully virtual students. We'll need to get new math books and novels into their hands.
