School Improvement Advisor

Our school improvement advisor from the local authority visited earlier this term. In her report to the school she stated that 'This is a really good school which is working relentlessly to offer the very best it can for the community it serves. Leadership is extremely strong internally and staff have a commitment to ensuring they model what it means to be a genuine ‘learning community’ through their own professional study and engagement with research informed approaches. This school and key leaders within it are in an excellent position this year to share best practice with other schools in the Authority and to offer a range of school improvement and leadership development opportunities.'

Thank you to our whole staff team for their continued hard work and commitment.

Parents' Evening

Parents' Evening is on the 11th and 12th November and will be held online this year. Appointments are 10 minutes each. Bookings can be made by logging on here from 7.00pm on Tuesday 20th October. The process is quite simple but if you do have any trouble logging on please contact the school office. All details are linked to the information we hold here at the school. Our system holds pupil legal names and preferred names. If your child's preferred name does not work please try using their legal name.

Whilst booking opens on Tuesday it is possible to login to the system at any point. We would recommend trying this out over the weekend. Please do contact us should experience any difficulties with this.

Google Classroom

Children in KS1 will soon be receiving their Google Classroom login (some will have this already stuck in their reading record book). To sign up to the correct class please go to classroom.google.com. This has now been updated so that children can simply click join.

Children do not need to wear uniforms on this day, please ensure they come into school wearing warm outdoor clothing (that may get muddy!) including a coat and wellies or outdoor shoes.

We will be lighting and maintaining a campfire in the wildlife area all day. If anyone has any dry firewood they would be willing to donate, we would be happy to accept. Please see Mr Slee in Squirrels Class.

FOMPS

Christmas Cards

The children have been working hard on their Christmas Designs over the last couple of weeks and these will be sent off to the printing company shortly. We hope to have a sample Christmas Card and order forms ready to send home just after half term.

If your child has not been able to create their designs, as they are currently isolating or off sick. Please email FOMPS at fompspta@gmail.com and we can email you a template and instructions if they would like to get involved.

Christmas Raffle

We will be holding a COVID-19 friendly Christmas Raffle this year, as sadly we are not able to run the Christmas fair within the school, which many of us have enjoyed for a good few years. If you know of a local business, which would appreciate some promotion from FOMPS in exchange for a raffle prize, please get in touch.

Please click on the following web link (or copy it into your web browser if clicking doesn't work) and have a look at some of the events FOMPS are interested in running this year:

COVID 19 - What to do if your child has suspected symptoms

Please ensure children do not come into school if they have a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia).

If anyone in the school becomes unwell with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia), they must be sent home.

You must follow ‘stay at home: guidance for households with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19), which sets out that they must self-isolate for at least 10 days and should arrange to have a test to see if they have coronavirus (COVID-19). Other members of their household (including any siblings) should self-isolate for 14 days from when the symptomatic person first had symptoms.
