Pedro Álvares Cabral, also knows as Pedro Alvares de Gouveia, was a Portugal explorer.
Pedro Álvares Cabral was born on 1467 CE in Portugal, which was his sponsoring country.
Pedro explored South America, which is known today as Brazil.
Pedro was supposed to go and explore India, he did not directly go there. Instead, he went west, and landed on the coast of Brazil.
He became the First European to reach Brazil, which did help his country.
The effects that his discovery had on Brazil was him trading Spices and other goods with the natives, and he established a fortified trading post.
The years he explored was 1500 - 1502.
In other words, his voyage only lasted Two Years, and then he retired afterwards.
