Westlake Campus: Offer for 2017-18 to East Oakland Leadership Academy K-8 (EOLA) pending March 22 Board Meeting

  • EOLA undergoing renewal in 2017-18
  • EOLA receiving 1-Year agreement, if renewed, Facility Master Plan must account for scenarios to house program at alternate location closer to East Oakland beginning 2018-19
  • COVA Music K-8 Charter proposed to locate at Westlake 2018-19 pending further engagement

Roosevelt Campus: Offer for 2017-18 to continue housing expanding East Bay Innovation Academy (EBIA) (grades 9-10 program)

  • EBIA continues housing 6-8 program at Marshall
  • EBIA exploring renovation to house 6-12 program at Marshall long-term

Castlemont Campus: Identified as most viable location for new Newcomer Continuation High School Satellite (Rudsdale) program

  • To be located in Hillside Campus following final assessment of viability
  • Provides innovative approach to serving high need population

Lakeview Campus: Offer for 2017-18 to continue to house AIMS Charter High School, as well as District central services

Lowell / MLK Campuses: MLK campus to house merged MLK/Lafayette grades PK-3 and Lowell campus to house merged MLK/Lafayette grades 4/5

Office of Continuous School Improvement

Helps schools and our district become the "Best at Getting Better"

Key Functions:

  • Measuring & reporting school performance annually & throughout the year using SPF and KPI's (district & charter)
  • Designing & implementing tools for data-driven Cycles of Inquiry, strategic school site planning, progress monitoring of programs, analysis and reporting of what's working & not working, and sharing effective practices
  • Identifying schools for Intensive supports or eligibility for Innovation; & coordinating access & implementation of those supports and services
  • Facilitating decision-making and implementation of new schools, grade configuration expansions, & charter reauthorizations, school mergers or consolidations, and school closures
  • Facilitating team responsible for ensuring annual allocation of facilities for new and/or growing schools, changing programs, and charter school requests

We remain lean by collaborating across the district to ensure that Quality is Everyone's Responsibility
