Day 1, 3rd March 2018
We started our trip at the Düsseldorf airport. I spent the following days with Mrs Geisler and Mrs Wurm, their husbands, Luka, Lucas, Tim, Jolina, Lisa and I (Sophie)in Edinburgh. The flight was amazing. We flew about 1 and a half hour to the Edinburgh airport. As we got closer we could see the beautiful landscape of Scotland covered in snow. From the airport we took a double decker bus to the city center. We walked a long distance with our luggage through the high snow to get to our hotel. The „ Claremont hotel“ was cute and cozy, just perfect for a small group of 6 students and 4 adults. We spent the rest of the day in separate groups. The other two girls and I went to discover the area around our hotel. In the evening we went to the Cinema. It was a fantastic experience. It is so different compared to German cinemas. The food you get is more fancy and the theaters are bigger. Back in our hotel went we all to bed.
We started our day with breakfast at 8.00. We all sat together and enjoyed the meal. The way back up to our room was so tiring and Jolina and I always laughed. Outside we went along the shopping mile and tried a few clothes on. The stores are totally different. A traditional British Clothing and Food line is Marks & Spencer. In addition to shopping we continued our way to the old town of the city. There we sat in a cute litte cafe and drank a hot cup of tea. After that the Harry Potter Tour started. We had a funny tour guide who showed us many spots of the original ideas of the Harry Potter books. It was interesting and astonishing. We also got to see many different sides of the city and the tour guide gave us each a wand, as a sign of the wizards. The snow made the streets look even more magical. When we were finished Jolina and I walked to the Edinburgh castle. From the top you had an amazing view onto the snowy city. The only disadvantage of the snow was that you were complete frozen, but that didn‘t matter because the beauty of the city topped it. While we were there the rest of the group was in the Dungeon. An amusement museum. In the evening Jolina, Lisa and I hat dinner at Nando’s. Nando's is a common restaurant change in the Uk, which has delicious food. It was a brilliant day and a fact beside we walked 21 km .
Today was the day in which we headed back to Germany. We woke up early and left the hotel at 8.10 am. Outside our hotel was that cute little cat, which was just adorable. At the airport was enough time to go through some shops and buy a few souvenirs or maybe candy to remember our great time. When we sat on the planeI realized that the trip was over and that it is definitely worth to visit Scotland one day in your life. Snowy or not, the atmosphere and coziness of the city will remain there forever.
These were 3 incredible days😄
