"Utah Jazz Most Valuable Educator, presented by Instructure” invites the Utah community to nominate local educators who are making an impact in their schools and communities and who are an inspiration in the lives of their students. Through this program, 21 educators will be recognized during 21 home games throughout the 2021-22 Jazz regular season. Each honored educator will be guests of Instructure at the game and receive a personalized Jazz jersey. In addition, each recipient will receive a $1,000 classroom grant and a surprise classroom visit or organized assembly involving the Jazz Bear mascot, and personnel from the Utah Jazz and Instructure. Nominations are now being accepted at www.utahjazz.com/MVE from anyone in the local community including students, parents, peer educators, principals, administrators, and college deans to honor the best educators in Utah. Nominators will be asked to answer, “How does this educator inspire students, spark curiosity, and support student growth and achievement?”.

The application for the new statewide, achievement-based Opportunity Scholarship for seniors opened on November 15, 2021. Students from the class of 2022 may qualify for the Opportunity Scholarship in one of two ways – the Regents’ Scholarship track and the Advanced Course track. Each track has a separate application and separate set of requirements, and students need to choose the application they have met the requirements for. The priority deadline is December 3, 2021, with a final deadline of February 1, 2022. Students should visit opportunityscholarship.org to apply for the scholarship. Please reach out to your counselor or the scholarship office directly if you have any questions.
