Google Chrome Extensions

Google Chrome is often our go-to web browser on our district systems. However, Chrome can be even more powerful with a variety of “extensions”. For those that don’t know, extensions are mini apps in your browser that can allow you to surf more efficiently, productively and sometimes with more entertainment. This week’s featured extensions are:

Clipboard History 2 – Keep all your clipboard history (anything you copied from any program) and rollback to any item. Now you can copy and paste several items without worrying about when you initially copied them.

Google Search by Image – To use this extension, right click on an image on the web and select “Search Google with this Image.” You can also drag your own image into the Google search box. When you search by image, you’ll see results that show you the webpages that contain that image, and similar images, or find the same image in different sizes or resolutions. This is great for research and checking of potential fake news.

Calculator in Windows 10

Did you know your standard Windows 10 calculator found in the Start Menu is more than just a standard calculator? It also has these options which can be used as a helpful tool or an “overly” helpful tool for students:

Calculator

• Scientific Calculator – a calculator for advanced features and functions of mathematical calculations.

• Programmer – convert numbers into Hex, binary, and more.

• Date Calculation – Determine the amount of years, months, weeks and days between two dates.

Conversion Options – no need to find an app or Google your conversions. You can convert between various units of measurement under the following categories.

  • Volume
  • Length
  • Weight & Mass
  • Temperature
  • Energy
  • Area
  • Speed
  • Time
  • Power
  • Data
  • Pressure
  • Angles

District Technology Trainings

Below is a list of upcoming professional development sessions that are being offered by the Technology Development team.

FYI - Training No-shows - Please be aware of what training you are registered. The district is placing a higher focus on attendance for staff developments so they can provide higher quality trainings. In the past, money has been lost due to registered participants not showing the day of the training. If you do not unregister then those on the waiting list miss opportunities because they are not notified of an opening.

According to new district policy, once you are absent 3 times, you will be administratively prevented from registering for future courses.

*You may submit more than one proposal

If I don't see you this week...
