Monday, October 8th- No School
Tuesday, October 9th- Half Day of School
Thursday, October 11th- Half Day of School/ Parent Conferences
First of all, let's take a moment to thank all of the families, friends, neighbors, and supporters that took part in Ready, Set, GLOW! The event was just amazing this year. The crowd was joyous, the DJ was entertaining, and the donations were very generous. It is exciting how much energy can go into raising money for the future adaptive playground.
Now that we have ventured into the month of October, our minds turn to many new things. We have two sessions of parent conferences coming up on October 11th and 18th. If you have not signed up yet, please do so by using the button below. Parent ability to add a conference through SignUp.com will stop Sunday night. Please make sure you have scheduled your conference prior to that. If a change needs to be made after Sunday night, then please contact your child's teacher directly.
Our annual Walk To School Day will take place on Wednesday, October 10th. Students that ride the bus will get dropped off at Oakmont. Parent drop-offs will also take place at Oakmont. We will provide bus transportation for students in Extended Day from JRB to Oakmont as well. This event allows us to feel a great sense of community as multiple schools will be walking with each other. It also lets us show that healthy choices are always an option. Please be on the lookout for a flyer in the near future with greater details.

"Meet Wanda Petronski, the new girl in school. Wanda talks with a funny foreign accent and wears the same faded blue dress to school every day. Yet she swears her closet back home is lined with 100 beautiful silk dresses. Still, the “mean girls” at school pick on Wanda relentlessly. And those who stand by silently soon learn that doing nothing can be the worst form of bullying of all. The Hundred Dresses is a timeless tale that explores the bonds of friendship, the willingness to be yourself and the courage that it takes to stand up to others—even when you’re standing alone."
Our third, fourth, and fifth grades will enjoy a performance of The Hundred Dresses on Thursday, October 4th in our JRB cafeteria.
Our students and staff often use yoga in the classroom to invigorate or relax their bodies on a regular basis. Young At Heart Studio in Westminster is offering some yoga opportunities for students from pre-k through middle school. If your child has an interest in pursuing yoga outside of school, please review the attached flyer.
