This is the first time for me to come to Singapore. It is not different from what I thought because this country is clean, safe and very modern. I think this city can attract a lot of people as well as tourists because of many factors.
The airport is very big that can make travelers confused and don’t know where to check in or check out. When I arrived, it was very dark – it was about 10pm, and I asked a lot of people for directions to get out. There was a long line to check out, so I have to spend much time there.
We had to take the taxi to the 18-floor hotel from the Changi International Airport. It took about half an hour to reach the hotel. One thing that was unbelievable was the rate. It cost S$200 a night. That was very expensive for Cambodian people. However, it provided very good service and the facilities were excellent.
Early in the morning after breakfast at the hotel, we took a taxi to some places in Singapore such as Sentosa, where we can see a big lion; Marina Bay, where we can see the swimming pool on the top of the building. We took an elevator up to the Sky Park. It was wonderful. We saw the city and the port from the top.
China Town is the best place to visit. We saw some shops, malls, restaurants. We went shopping, mostly window shopping and we had dinner there. The food was delicious, but a little bit sweet for me.
Early in the morning on the second day, we went to Toa Payoh, where the foods are cheap, and everything in the shop has reasonable price.
Lucky Plaza is the best place to buy souvenirs. I felt so surprised when I arrived there because there were crowds of people walking, shopping, eating, talking and taking photos. It was unbelievable. We bought some souvenirs for friends and relatives in Cambodia. I have learned that it is always crowded like that every Sunday.
Two days in Singapore seemed to be very short for us. We went back in the morning of the next day. We didn’t want to go back, but we have to. I hoped to come to Singapore again one day and stay longer.
