Racing Leprechauns Forces in Motion

Have you ever wondered how those huge airplanes stay up in the air?

Why don' t they fall?

Let's experiment with some balloons and air and see if we can get them to fly like airplanes.

Your turn to make your own racing Leprechaun.

Follow the Steps:

  • Step 1: Color & cut out your leprechaun
  • Step 2: Blow up your balloon and clip it so the air doesn't escape
  • Step 3: Tape your leprechaun racer to the balloon
  • Step 4: Place your straw on a string & tape your balloon to the straw.
  • Step 5: Once 3 friends are ready, you can begin your race. Count down from 3 and then unclip your balloon to let the air out.

Which Leprechaun won?

Why do you think he was the fastest racer?

What would you do differently on your second race to make you car faster?

Let's race again!
