FOX POINT LUTHERAN CHURCH

READY TO TAKE A TOUR?

Here is our west-facing portion of our building just before you get to the old entrance.

The date in the right hand corner reads 1950.

OLD & NEW REVEALED

Big, beautiful changes are happening here to celebrate the new and honor our beginnings.

Notice the ceiling! Gone is its barrel shape. The current view follows the original shape of the roof joists - as seen here.

NEW ENTRANCE DOORWAY

The big open space at the end, where the stained glass hung above the altar, is our new entrance. But what of the woodwork and stained glass that was there? It's being re-purposed as a nod to the early days of our church.

STAINED GLASS WINDOW

Behind the welcome desk will be a partial wall. On the opposite side of that wall will be a gathering space with seating. The wood frame and original altar glass will be installed there and back-lit.

NEXT STOP

INSIDE THE ADMIN ADDITION

Here is our large size conference room in the new administration area.

Beyond the metal framing will be a smaller meeting room and office space for our pastors.

A view from one of the new office windows of Fellowship Hall and one of the new lightwells.

WINDOWS & LIGHTWELL

Featured here are new windows for the east side of the basement and another lightwell to admit light to some of the basement rooms.

  1. JCBS continued working on wood blocking this week, but turned their focus to the exterior. Installed the wood blocking for the roof edge coping and framing required ahead of the roofers return.
  2. Taken delivery of the new decorative columns of the porte-cochere. This was a long lead time order we’re happy to have on site. We are storing these in the Church garage to keep them safe. Assisted with construction cleaning.

Paun Construction

  1. Continued to be the largest presence on site as they are running up the new brick veneer. They have effectively completed the office addition and are currently working on the sanctuary addition. On rain days, they have been working on the new window openings in the lower-level as well as new masonry opening in the south wall of the old chapel.
  2. Paun continued working on the brick veneer this week, though the rain did hamper our progress. Focussed on the lower-level brick around the new windows in the commons as well as the veneer on the sanctuary addition.
  3. Continued with the brick veneer around the rest of the project and on new window openings in lower-level walls as opportunities arise.

Masterfoam

  1. Week of July 7 - Continued work in the upper attic space above the main sanctuary. A note from the Project Manager...

We are “teed up” to achieve a major milestone! Before the end of the month, we will be substantially weather tight! This triggers a schedule update, which will become our “completion schedule” and will be the road map that takes us through completion.

Stay tuned for more updates!
