1960-1964: Ford headed to Ripon College, Wisconsin, where he studied English and philosophy and took his first acting class.

1960-1964:He dropped out just before graduation, and when, in 1985, the college offered him an honorary degree, he declined it.

1967: A Time for Killing won Ford his first movie credit.

1967:He used the name Harrison J Ford (the J standing for nothing, as Ford doesn't have a middle name) to avoid confusion with a silent film actor of the same name.

1977: it was Lucas who again served as Ford's Hollywood advocate, giving him the role of Han Solo.

1977:Lucas had actually wavered on the casting, for a while ruling out Ford in favour of Christopher Walken. It's said that he changed his mind when Ford happened to come by the studio to fix a door.

2010: Ford married Flockhart on June 15, after eight years together.

2010:The couple have one son, Liam, who was adopted by Flockhart in 2001.

2017: This year’s Star Wars Celebration for the new force awakens
