MS/HS Exam Early Dismissals

New for 2016-2017 - students in grades 7th-12th will only be in school for half days during Midterms and Finals. MS/HS students will be dismissed from school at 11:30am on January 18th, 19th and 20th for Midterms and on June 12th, 13th, and 14th for Finals.

Questions? Please email our 7th-12th Grade Curriculum Coordinator, Mrs. Ratti.

150 Building Jump Rope for Heart

Our Jump Rope for Heart (JRFH) event kicks off this week! The objective of this annual event is heart-health education and community service. CCS also earns gift certificates from the American Heart Association for new PE equipment.

Donation envelopes and a parent letter explaining the event will be sent home this week. A class participation schedule will be included. Donations are encouraged, but are not mandatory.

Students in the 150 Building will participate in JRFH on Thursday, February 9th or Friday, but all students will participate in the event regardless of donation status. The class that raises the most money gets to “pie” their favorite teacher!

Check out our website link below for more details and pictures from last year’s event.

Suicide Prevention Program Training for Parents/Guardians

Suicide is one of the country’s biggest concerns and least discussed topics. Despite many efforts to address this issue, the national suicide rate has been on the rise since 2008. Our rate in Chester County also continues to climb. We must do more to address these alarming statistics.

The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is offering an opportunity for parents/guardians of Chester County K-12 students to attend a free 2-hour training on the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Program.

Participants will receive the QPR Booklet and become QPR Gatekeepers. The QPR Program is modeled after CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver in that many every-day citizens can use it. At the conclusion of the training, parents/guardians will be able to:

  • Recognize suicide warning signs (sleep issues, hopelessness, etc.).
  • Intervene to question with support.
  • Persuade and talk with hope and understanding.
  • Refer the person to someone who can help.

Participants do not need previous training or education prerequisites. Trainings are provided by QPR Instructors employed by the CCIU. Use the link below to register for one of the two free 2-hour trainings:

  • Thursday, January 19th from 6:30pm-8:30pm at TCHS Pennocks Bridge.
  • Tuesday, February 21st from 6:30pm-8:30pm at TCHS Brandywine.

Grades 1st-12th Science Fair

The 1st-12th Grade Science Fair is this Wednesday, January 18th!

If you are participating, please check-in and setup your project in the 515 Auditorium between 4:15pm and 5:30pm. Do not arrive and park on campus before 4:15pm. You will receive a specific judging time via email by Monday evening and at CCS on Tuesday.

If you are not participating, but would like to see the projects, please do so Wednesday between 4:30pm and 5:30pm.

The awards assembly will be held for all participants and their parents/guardians on Friday, January 20th at 2:00pm in the 515 Auditorium.

Questions? Please email Mrs. Tobin.

Breakfast for Dinner Benefiting CCST

The cast and crew of Collegium Center Stage Theatre's (CCST) production of The Music Man invite you to a delicious evening out at their Breakfast for Dinner fundraiser!

This event will take place in the 515 Building Cafeteria on Wednesday, January 18th - the same night as the CCS Science Fair! Meals will be served from 5:00pm-7:00pm and the cost for these tasty meals will be:
