An older girl is a problem for poor families in Bangladesh.
She must leave to be with with her husband and his family after she marries- sometimes as soon as she is 13- and she will not be allowed to care for her own parents after that.
There seems to be little point in spending money on her education!
But without education a girl's life will just be a cycle of babies, ignorance and poverty
The Asha charity helps to break this cycle by sponsoring teenage girls into school.
A payment of £17.00 per month enables a girl to continue in school and to complete at least her Secondary School education before she marries.
Marriage and babies can come later when the time is right.
