Key Information about General Conference 2019 The plans, summaries of the plans, other updates

Pray for our General Conference delegates, Council of Bishops, and General Conference related committees making critical decisions.

Schedule a prayer chain or vigil while General Conference is in session February 23-26, 2019.

Hold informational events in your local church. Discuss the plans and talk about the future UMC you dream of for your community. Ask your pastor, lay leader, and church council chair how you can work together to host these gatherings.

Consider a book study of "Our Strangely Warmed Hearts" by Bishop Karen Oliveto which outlines the UMC's history and struggle with LGBTQ inclusion. Click here to order.

Share your story with your delegation. Email your Regional Organizer to visit about great options for reaching out to a specific delegate, several delegates, or your entire delegation. We are happy to help you plan and prepare!

Consider joining us in St. Louis. We have a dream of 864 Reconciling United Methodists (the same number of General Conference delegates), all wearing rainbow stoles, observing general conference as a witness of Reconciling presence and prayer. We anticipate additional witnesses of hospitality and will keep you posted as they develop.

Please consider donating to RMN. The RMN staff is working very hard to prepare for the called GC 2019 and the regularly scheduled GC in 2020. Facing back to back general conferences is also a financial challenge. Your church, Sunday school class, or any other community might consider a special offering for this purpose. Your financial gift is more critical than ever. And becoming a monthly donor allows us to better plan for the bigger picture.
