Beautiful sunshine to end another beautiful week at Greenfields. The children are really enjoying using the outdoors more. We are so lucky to have such spacious grounds and we are encouraging good use of this, not only at play times but also during lessons as well. So, can I please remind you to ensure that your child comes to school prepared for the warmer weather, including bringing their own water bottle to school daily (filled with water only, please).
Enjoy the weekend and see you all on Monday.

Year One Enjoy The Outdoors
Year One have been enjoying the warmer weather and reading in the sunshine. Not only do the children enjoy the much improved weather, it also ensures a safer COVID environment in the fresh spring air.
Year One Also Explore Nature
Year One are loving their new science topic of plants! This week they went on a nature hunt and used a tally chart to see how many trees bushes and flowers our school grounds have! They were even able to describe them using adjectives.
Jack and the Robbers
Dragonflies have been enjoying learning a new story called Jack and the Robbers. They have been very busy making story maps and this week got to act out the story .The children used some props and also used their bodies to make forests, hills, ponds and a cottage. The class all remembered the story and were amazing.
Reading in the Fresh Air for Reception
This week we took Busy Bees and Dragonflies into the fresh air and sunshine to read their favourite stories. It was lovely to enjoy the nice weather and share our stories with our friends.
Year Two Jigsaw
This term, our Jigsaw theme across the school is 'Healthy Relationships'. Year Two had a lovely afternoon discussing family, friends and relationships. They talked about how to show respect to each other and how to have kind hands. They ended the Jigsaw session with a class animal massage and a story.

Home School Agreement
As we become more used to our online way of working, we thought it was important to add to our home/school agreement (that you signed when your child started at Greenfields) to include online learning. Please follow the link below to complete this short addition relating to online learning with Greenfields Primary School and Nursery.
Class Code and Google Link
Teachers are looking forward to posting their ‘Flipping Greenfields’ videos this Friday in time for the weekend. Each one is all about next week’s learning, so will get your child prepared for a flying start on Monday. Research shows that children who feel prepared for the coming week are less anxious about school, happier to get up and go on a Monday morning and achieve better than those who are not.
