Work in Islam By Ahmed Alqalam

As Once Mohammed (PBUH) Said

“What actions are most excellent? To gladden the heart of human beings, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the sufferings of the injured.” (Bukhari)

Why is it Important?

  • Shows unselfishness
  • You have to give back to the poor, family, and more.
  • Shows loyalty
  • Shows men and women can do the same thing
  • Helping people who are in need

As Once Sahih Muslim Said

This means that if you give money or something to the poor, inshallah you'll receive something amazing in the future.

What do you have to do when You Work and get Money

As what Mohammed PBUH said: "Allah will deprive usury of all blessing, but will give increase for deeds of charity"

  • Zakah - What You Owe From Your Money

Zakat is the compulsory giving of a set proportion of one's wealth to charity. It is regarded as a type of worship and of self-purification. Zakat is the third Pillar of Islam. Zakah is when you give to the poor 2.5% of your salary.

"And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give Zakah. And that is the correct religion." (Quran 98:5)

Abbas related that a man asked the Prophet, Tell me what should I do to be admitted to Paradise and he (the Prophet) answered: Worship Allah associating nothing with Him, observe Salat, pay Zakah and strengthen the ties of kinship. (Bukhari, Muslim)

Distribution of Work

"Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above the others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate." [Az-Zukhruf 43:32]

The Workers Rights and Duties

  • Islam urges the employers to give their employers the rights they deserve
  • In Islam the right are made to ensure that labourers and employees have social equality and a comfortable life.
  • In Islam no employer should overburden their employees because of the physical and mental health.

  • Islamic law does not deprive a women from the right to work within the limits that protect her honor and dignity.
  • According to Islam, as a rule, woman can work inside her house or outside; she can help her husband in providing the needs of her family.

Honest Work
