final major project reflective journal week 2 by tom rafferty
-As I am focusing on the art for my project most of my reflective journal will be focused on any issues, feats, discoveries etc. in the art side of the game, this will not completely rule out any talk of code/sound as I will talk about how my graphics work impacted that work.
This Morning we are doing our presentation, I'm nervous as our presentation isn't the best it could be as it was slightly rushed (we have been working on the game pretty heavily over the last few days) but we have a playable demo which I'm feeling pretty confident about, Anthony is building it (exporting it to be a playable/launchable exe.) right now, we have to present later on today in first lesson, we aren't sure on the exact time, I think we are just going to go in and do it.
we did our presentation today and I don't think that people were impressed the playable demo we had wasn't built for macs (which were the only PCs in the room) and we tried to hook up Anthony's laptop to the projector but it didn't work so we had a pretty mediocre presentation which has really frustrated me but moving on.
These last few days I have been working on the playable character for the game (his animations and looks) we don't have a name just yet but we know that he is a wizard and is hated because in this world (the game world) the people don't like the idea that this person is powerful, it scares them. I also made a big chunk of the outdoor tileset too, I made grass and flowers, a stone path, a cart (for a small vendor maybe) and a few other things like water etc.
The main tool I have used these past days has been photoshop to create all my graphics, like the tileset and the character, I also used pinterest for reference and inspiration.
