I am trying to develop a visual vocabulary of images that represent chronic insomnia. The inability to fall asleep, stay asleep, or sleep an appropriate duration of eight hours is a complex and multifaceted problem that includes how disciplined your sleep structure is, your diet and lifestyle. Some people, even sleep medicine specialists, might suggest that you have a busy mind that only talk therapy can fix. Is sleep apnea or a hormone imbalance causing problems? This list goes on and on.
When you meet someone who has chronic insomnia, keep it simple. Simply express that you hope they find a solution soon.
