New Orleans, Louisiana.  A trip to The Big Easy was the perfect destination for a co-ed Bachelor/Bachelorette party to celebrate my great friends, Jack and Emily (JAM). Our NOLAJAM weekend was packed full of strong drinks, good food, warm weather, and great memories!

New Orleans is known as the Crescent City, for it's location on the curve of the Mississippi River. The Woldenberg Riverfront Park is a beautiful place to enjoy an afternoon stroll. There are unique art pieces at every turn and beautiful scenery to enjoy. If you are interested in a steamboat cruise, most of them pickup here.

Jackson Square is a beautiful centerpiece of New Orleans within the French Quarter. It was the site of the Louisiana purchase in 1803. Quaint fences, walkways, benches, and landscaping make this a perfect place to relax, people-watch, or shop.

Cafe du Monde is located on Jackson Square and was established in 1862 as the original French Market coffee stand. Lines can stretch down the block for a chance to taste the most delicious beignets!

Your trip won't be complete without an afternoon wandering down Bourbon street, popping in and out of bars and restaurants.

We took the opportunity to try a Hand Grenade and Shark Attack, followed by an afternoon snack of Po-Boys and the biggest oysters we've ever seen!

The historic balconies in the French Quarter are all unique and colorful.

Head towards Latrobe Park and grab a drink from one of the street vendors. On the way home, stop by Central Grocery for a Muffuletta, a delicious sandwich that originates from the Italian immigrants that made their home in New Orleans in the early 1900's.

The Carousel Bar is the perfect spot for a pre-dinner cocktail. The Iounge vibe is pretty and unique. Keep your eye out for a seat on the Carousel, which turns as you enjoy your drinks!

New Orleans is full of so many great restaurants. Friday night was co-ed classic French fare at Arnaud's. Saturday was for the girls at a delicious seafood restaurant, Peche. Do not miss their fried bread!

On Saturday, we enjoyed classic jazz and fancy cocktails at the Jazz Playhouse - a lounge inside the Royal Sonesta Hotel. Stop in before or after dinner for some great live music. The service is also spectacular!

Continue your evening barhopping in the French Quarter. Sorry, no photos from this portion of our trip... :)

Where to stay

Marriott New Orleans is a perfect centrally located hotel. For a larger group, search for your home away from home on AirBnB.
