49ers Foundation Announces 30th Anniversary Celebration

The San Francisco 49ers announced a major milestone on Monday, May 10th for the organization, as the 49ers Foundation begins a 30th Anniversary celebration, highlighted by hitting $50 million raised and invested back into underserved Bay Area communities. Through its direct service programs, 49ers EDU presented by Chevron and 49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank, legacy beneficiaries and support from the Faithful, the 49ers Foundation has helped to level the playing field for more than 500,000 youth in the Bay Area and beyond.

This anniversary also falls perfectly in line with the team's 75th Anniversary campaign, launched just prior to the 2021 NFL Draft. The Foundation plans to use this season to reflect on all the amazing work accomplished so far, but also to forge a clear path for another 30 years of giving back to The Bay and beyond.

"Over these 30 years, the 49ers Foundation has grown and been supported by our sponsors, local businesses, and our passionate fans. The Foundation has provided a means to meet and reach our organization, players, alumni and coaches, all while joining us together to serve our community," said 49ers Co-Chairman Dr. John York. "During this celebratory 30th Anniversary year, we look forward to sharing in-person events as soon as possible."

We are appreciative of our 49ers and 49ers Foundation Faithful that have been with us since the beginning. We look forward to the future milestone celebrations, continuing our work to educate and empower youth, and remaining faithful to the next generation!

49ers PREP Presented by U.S. Bank Selects Joe Bates as the 2020 Coach of the Year

As the 2020 spring season of high school football comes to an end, 49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank announces its 2020 High School Coach of the Year to Joe Bates, head coach of Skyline High School. Having held the head coaching position with his alma mater since 2015, Coach Bates continues to build a strong football program that is respected throughout the Bay Area and the city of Oakland.

2020 was a difficult year for a lot of high schools and their student-athletes, but Coach Bates is proud of his team for navigating this past year both on and off the field. "This has been a different year... not knowing when or if we would play was damaging to Skyline and the City of Oakland," said Coach Bates. "As coaches, we fill a mentorship role on top of our coaching duties, and this year our mentoring role superseded our coaching role when we thought all hope was lost." Congratulations, Coach Bates!

49ers PREP presented by U.S. Bank empowers Bay Area youth to lead healthy lifestyles by engaging in physical activity and nurturing the growth of student athletes on and off the playing field. The program provides free non-contact activities for both boys and girls as well as additional programs to teach life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities. 49ers PREP’s principal objective is to promote a culture of teamwork by creating safe opportunities for children of all backgrounds and abilities to play, grow, and have fun at no cost.
