I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2013 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Georgia State University in the Sports Administration program. I am set to graduate in May 2017.
I was a four year starter on the UWW Gymnastics team and completed my career as a collegiate gymnast in 2013. Being a student athlete at the collegiate level taught me many things. The most important thing I learned was the ability to work with a team towards a common goal, while providing the leadership necessary for success. I was a team captain my senior year, which added an additional layer of responsibility to the student athlete role. I was in charge of planning functions and fundraisers for the team, organizing paperwork for the coach, and motivating my teammates everyday in the gym during practice. I was expected to be a leader in and outside of the gym, while still being a team player everyday. My experience as a collegiate athlete taught me how hard work, determination, drive and discipline are the cornerstones for success in anything that I set out to accomplish.
I am currently working as a graduate assistant and intern in the Athletic Department at Atlanta International School, an IB school located in Buckhead with sports programs ranging from recreational primary school sports to competitive middle school sports and Varsity high school sports. I assist with administrative duties in the office, which include marketing and promotion through social media, transportation scheduling, writing weekly athletic newsletters and organizing and distributing team uniforms. I also assist with the game day management for middle and high school sports.
