Littleton Throwback #sharelittleton #throwbackthursday

On March 24, 1954, Littleton Independent editor Edwin Bemis visited the US Marine Air Base at Kaneohe, Hawaii. Here, he is pictured holding a Littleton-made Heckethorn (HECO) rocket-propelled grenade. HECO made projectiles during WWII and the Korean War, but also made other machined items, like lawn sprinklers, military medals, and shock absorbers. In 1957, HECO moved their offices to Dyersburg, Tennessee, ending their long tenure in Littleton.
