Simple Stick Binding

Supplies: twig, rubber band (or string), hole punch.

Simple Lace Binding

With a simple hole-punch and string, yarn, or ribbon, your students can create inventive and colorful woven binding designs that outdo the old stapler trick! Try combining more than one type or color of string, adding bows, or creating criss-cross patterns for fun effects. Let students experiment with the number of punched holes and the ribbon design.

Accordion-fold Book

Supplies: 2 small squares of cardboard, accordion-folded paper, string or ribbon, and glue stick.
Glue cardboard pieces to either end of accordion-fold paper.
Add simple string or ribbon around the outside to tie book closed.

Make as simple or fancy as you'd like with added scrapbook or cardstock papers, paint, button closures, and more!

Supplies: Envelopes, string, glue stick. That's it!
