2016 Carthage College Red Men 2016 CCIW Regular season and Tournament Champions

The 2016 Carthage College Red Men followed up a historic 2015 campaign with an even more impressive 2016 season. The Red Men went 18-4 on the season and 8-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin to capture their third CCIW regular season title in program history. Carthage followed that up with wins over Illinois Wesleyan and Wheaton to capture the 2016 CCIW Tournament Championship and the conference's AQ berth. The Red Men, who reached as high as #7 in the NSCAA's Top 25, also earned the right to host the first and second rounds of the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship at Art Keller Field for the first time in school history.
Carthage opened the year on the East Coast with a 10-day trip to Boston where the Red Men trained places which included Harvard, M.I.T. and Boston College. Carthage went 3-0 to start the 2016 season earning victories over the City College of New York to start the season, concluded by Endicott College and Gordon College to win the North Shore Invite.

Second longest win streak in program history.

Midway through the season, the Red Men took a trip out to California where the Red Men defeated the Banana Slugs of UC-Santa Cruz, 3-1, on their home field. Additionally, the Red Men visited sites in San Fransisco that included Pier 39, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, and trained at sites including the University of San Fransisco, San Jose State University and Stanford University.
2016 marked the second straight season in which Carthage hoisted the CCIW Tournament title after defeating Wheaton College, 2-1, on Art Keller Field.
