“Closer” By The Chainsmoker

We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older

You look as good as the day I met you

I forget just why I left you, I was insane

Stay and play that Blink-182 song

That we beat to death in Tuscon, okay

I know it breaks your heart

Moved to the city in a broke down car

And four years, no call

Now I'm looking pretty in a hotel bar

And I can't stop

No, I can't stop

So baby pull me closer in the backseat of your Rover

This shows imagery, because it gives you the image of something. This gives you the image of a boyfriend pulling his girlfriend to him in the backseat of a car.

That I know you can't afford

Bite that tattoo on your shoulder

This shows imagery, because it gives you the image of a girlfriend biting her boyfriend shoulder where a tattoo is.

Pull the sheets right off the corner

Of the mattress that you stole

From your roommate back in Boulder

We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older

So baby pull me closer in the backseat of your Rover

That I know you can't afford

Bite that tattoo on your shoulder

Pull the sheets right off the corner

Of the mattress that you stole

From your roommate back in Boulder

We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older (we ain't ever getting older)

We ain't ever getting older (we ain't ever getting older)

We ain't ever getting older (we ain't ever getting older)

We ain't ever getting older

We ain't ever getting older

No we ain't ever getting older

“It Don’t Hurt Like It Used Too” By Billy Currington

I had a couple beers with one of my friends

Told him just how our story ends

Did all I could to try to make it work

But you drug my heart through the Alabama dirt, hey

This is a metaphor, the author used this metaphor to show that this girl put him through a lot. You can't literally drag someones heart through the Alabama dirt, because someone can't live without a heart. He's comparing the pain he put her through to her dragging his heart through the Alabama dirt.

I've been out the house, climbin' them walls

Checkin' that calendar, exin' days off, hey

Hit another bar, call another friend

Throw a few down, tell the story again

Hey, hey, what can I say?

I can just lie and say it's all okay

Oh-ho, what can I do?

Been goin' through Hell gettin' over you

But it don't hurt, it don't hurt like it used to

No it don't hurt, it don't hurt like it used to

I'm finally gettin' out back into the world

Life is good, I'll marry a girl

She got a beautiful heart, eyes are blue

I don't hardly ever think about you, hey

Hey, hey, what can I say?

I can just lie and say it's all okay

Oh-ho, what can I do?

Been goin' through hell gettin' over you

But it don't hurt, it don't hurt like it used to

No, it don't hurt, it don't hurt like it used to

Sometimes I find peace of mind in a bottle of wine

This is a metaphor, the author uses this metaphor to say that alcohol has helped him get over this girl and find his piece, but you cant find a piece of mind in a bottle of wine.

Sometimes I break down and cry

Hey, hey, what can I say?

I can just lie and say it's all okay

Oh-ho, what can I do?

Been goin' through hell gettin' over you

Hey, hey, what can I say?

I can just lie and say it's all okay

Oh-ho, what can I do?

Been goin' through hell gettin' over you

But it don't hurt, it don't hurt like it used to

No it don't hurt, it don't hurt like it used to

No it don't hurt, it don't hurt like it used to

It don't hurt, it don't hurt like it used to, hey

“Dark Horse” By Katy Perry

I knew you were

You were gonna come to me

And here you are

But you better choose carefully

'Cause I'm capable of anything

Of anything and everything

Make me your Aphrodite

Make me your one and only

But don't make me your enemy, your enemy, your enemy

So you wanna play with magic

Boy, you should know whatcha falling for

Baby do you dare to do this

Cause I'm coming atcha like a dark horse

Are you ready for, ready for

A perfect storm, perfect storm

Cause once you're mine, once you're mine

There's no going back

Mark my words

This love will make you levitate

This is a hyperbole, because it exaggerate that her love is so strong it will make you levitate but that's not possible for the love she has for him to make him levitate.

Like a bird

Like a bird without a cage

But down to earth

If you choose to walk away, don't walk away

It's in the palm of your hand now baby

It's a yes or no, no maybe

So just be sure before you give it up to me

Up to me, give it up to me

So you wanna play with magic

Boy, you should know whatcha falling for

Baby do you dare to do this

Cause I'm coming atcha like a dark horse

Are you ready for, ready for

A perfect storm, perfect storm

Cause once you're mine, once you're mine

There's no going back

She's a beast

I call her Karma

She eat your heart out

Like Jeffrey Dahmer

Be careful

Try not to lead her on

Shawty's heart was on steroids

Cause her love was so strong

This is a hyperbole because, her heart cant be on steroids because that would harm her. What he's trying to say is her love was so strong it made it seem like her heart would be on on steroids.

You may fall in love

When you meet her

If you get the chance you better keep her

She sweet as pie, but if you break her heart

She turn cold as a freezer

That fairy tale ending with a knight in shining armor

She can be my Sleeping Beauty

I'm gon' put her in a coma

Woo!

Damn I think I love her

Shawty so bad

I'm sprung and I don't care

She got me like a roller coaster

Turn the bedroom into a fair

Her love is like a drug

I was tryna hit it and quit it

But lil'mama so dope

I messed around and got addicted

So you wanna play with magic

Boy, you should know whatcha falling for

Baby do you dare to do this

Cause I'm coming atcha like a dark horse

Are you ready for, ready for

A perfect storm, perfect storm

Cause once you're mine, once you're mine

There's no going back
