West Nile Virus is viral.

Symptoms- headache, high fever, neck stiffness, disorientation, coma, tremors, seizures

1% of people who are infected will develop a serious neurological illness such as encephalitis or miningitis

This virus is acute

It is spread by mosquitos

Treatment options- no vaccine, over the counter pain relievers can be used to reduce fever and relieve some symptoms, some need to be put in the hospital and receive fluids

How Common Is It in the U.S.? 2012: 5,674 2013: 2,469 2014: 2,122 2015: 2,060

It is mostly found in the Middle East
