1920/1930 LEISURE time

Home life in 1920's - 1930's

Young Family enjoying their new radio in their house in 1920's. Many family in the 1920's had radios to listen to sports news or just normal news from the real world. This was their fasted way to learn information was from the radio.
Family in their house enjoying their refrigerator in 1920's. Many families were just starting to get refrigerators because this would mean that they can keep all their food safely keep and stored for a lot longer time.
Poor Hooverville in New York city in 1930's. Mini shacks that people had to live in because they had no choice. People had lost all their money in the stock market and had no where else to go so many of them just created these mini communities to live in temporally. Everyone that lived in these communities were super poor.
Peoples home life in the 1930's because mostly everyone lost their house from the stock market crash. This is another picture of a junkie house that people lived in temporarily so they can wait for everything to get better. These people had absolute no money so they lived in poverty.

Narrtive

Home life - The role in the home life in the 20's was a very good time for people to have a house. Woman and African American family had good new inventions in their house including radios, radios, vacuums, and many more luxuries. Home life was a totally different story in the 30's. Many if not everyone invested in the stock market on a margin, and when it crashed they couldn't pay back any of their money and they lost everyone. Many family's had no where to live and had to live in Hoovervilles or move to the west fora better life.

Leisure Time in 1920's 1930's

In the 1920's many African American groups in the Bronx had made good music and art and that boomed and is now being called the roaring 20's. Also the roaring 20's represented all the good that had happened. The Roaring twenties was a great time for everyone.
African Americans enjoying playing their instruments in the roaring 20's. Many of the African Americans had played instruments to get out of all the stress they faced because if there skin color. They played jazz music, and many whites loved their music and then jazz got super popular.
Woman in 1920's partying and getting all dressed up for special occasion. Many of these older adults in the 1920's loved to party and def finally lived there life's to the fullest because they enjoyed every minute of it. Many partied and dressed up to blow some steam off.
Many people in the 1920's including African Americans and woman loved going to these fun clubs at night to blow off all their stress. Many adults had gone out at night after work to get all their stress out and to enjoy their lives.
Woman in 1920's enjoying their new (reviling) bathing suits. Many were excited about there new bathing suits and a lot of them showed them off at the beaches or pool party as shown in this picture. A lot of them loved the fact that they were more reviling because many hated all the old bathing suits.
Many people in 1920's spending their time at the movie theaters. These people had to blow off some steam after the hard days of work they went through so ,many of them went to movies and party to enjoy themselves before another day of work hits them.
African Americans leisure time in the 1930's. Many African Americans were super poor at the time and didn't have any money. Most if them did the same thing as many white people did and lived in little junkie house temporarily so they can wait for everything to get better.
Average american in 1930's playing his guitar for leisure time in the West. Out in the west when everyone was migrating there, there was nothing to do. Many people got board out there and this is just another example of people spending their long boring hours in the west for leisure time.

Narrative

Leisure time - Many African Americans in the 1920's looked at it as the " Roaring 20's ". many African Americans came from the south in seek for a better life up north and most of them did. They had an art and music out break and made history because everyone loved it, even whites. Woman in their leisure time did many things including going to movies, going to party's, getting drinks at the speak easyies and much more. 1920's woman partied and party and were loving life in the 20's

American Economy in 1920's-1930's

This was the American economy through out the 1920's. The economy were booming and the american economy was one of the biggest economy's in the whole world. America was a world power.
American Stock market climbing through 1920's and 1930's. The stock market had blew up like a balloon in the 1920's and the United states had one of the best economy in the entire world. Once it had gotten too big, the balloon popped and then the United States had one if the worst economy's in the world.
Woman in 1930's rioting for some jobs to support their family's. Many woman weren't working because all men took over there job's and they were upset they couldn't support there family's. Many rioted for jobs as you can see in this picture.

Narrative

Economy - The American economy in the 1920's was literately blowing up like a giant balloon. With all the new inventions and everything being made in the U.S.A., America was making tons of money and trading big with other countries like Europe. Once the stock market was booming then buying on a credit was introduced. Many many Americans bought tons of stocks on credit and the economy was at its peak. Once it couldn't hold/take it anymore the economy failed fell ( balloon exploded ).After that everyone lost all their money and then we became one of the poorest economy's in the world. nobody had any money and at that point everyone was struggling super hard and that was just the beginning of the great depression.
