Pele was born in Brazil on October 23, 1940.

He made soccer more famous around the world and played for Brazil

He won three world cups while he played with Brazil

He earned the National Peace Award in 1978

he published many best selling books that inspired many people to be like him and not give up

named athlete of the century in 1980 and then again in 1999.

Nigeria stopped their civil war just so they could all watch Pele play.

He was declared a national treasure by the Brazilian government to help him stay and play in Brazil.

He scored his 1,000th goal on November 20, 1969.

Pele is tied to the theme of cultural interaction

he has done so much for his home country Brazil like donating charity and inspiring people to not give up.

He also did and taught so much to other countries including a lot of things about soccer.
