Monday 2/10: Crazy Hat Day

Tuesday 2/11: Crazy Sock Day

Wednesday 2/12: "Be Your Maddest Self" Costume Day -- Alice in Wonderland dress up day. Swing by the courtyard at lunch to have a CEC member take a picture of your costume. There will be a Costume Contest (from the top 7) held at the dance based on the pics. Winner is crowned as the "Royal Jester."

Thursday 2/13: Crater Spirit Day

Friday 2/14: The Queen's House of Cards Day: BIS wears red, CAHPS wears pink, CRA wears blue.

Winter Formal

Join us on Friday, February 14th, for Crater's 2020 Winter Formal. The theme is the Queen's House of Cards (Alice In Wonderland). The dance will be held in the Student Center from 8pm - 11pm. Queens ask Kings! Tickets can be purchased in advance from the bookkeeper for $15 for one ticket or $25 for two tickets. Prices will be the same at the door. Guest passes are available to pick up at the office. They are due by 4 pm on Thursday, Feb 13th.

Summer Internship Opportunity

ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum is now accepting applications for its Summer Internship Program! Students (ages 14+) who are interested in science, developing new skills, having fun, and giving back to the community are encouraged to apply! Accepted students will complete a 100-hour internship with a focus on summer camps or museum programs, OR a 40- or 80-hour internship with a mix of both camps and programs. This year students can apply online! Applications will be considered on a rolling basis but must be received by April 24, 2020. If students will not have access to the above link, the application can be found on the link below. If students prefer to complete a paper application, I have attached a PDF that can be printed.

College Corner

Applications for CAHPS Alumni who are continuing their education (post-high school) can download the Crater Foundation scholarship application from their website http://craterfoundation.district6.org/alumni_association/. Make sure to click "Save As" before you start typing. Then you can print it out when completed, sign it, and send it to Jill Layton, in the Crater Foundation office. Scholarship applications can be returned by email jill.layton@district6.org , by fax 541-664-7589, or by mail to Crater Foundation, PO Box 5172, Central Point, OR 97502. But make sure they arrive on or before February 12, 2020. If you have questions please give Jill a call at 541-494-6308.

Poetry Out Loud

Are you interested in competing in this year's Poetry Out Loud poem recitation competition? To participate, students must memorize and recite a poem from the POL website. This year's tournament is scheduled for Feb. 11. If you'd like to get involved, stop by to see Mrs. Sullivan in rm 19 or email her at kristen.sullivan@district6.org.
