The Story of Narciso

The person that I am interviewing is my dad who's name is Narciso Pablo Teyuca. I am interviewing this person because he’s the person who inspires me a lot and gives me good advice. My dad was born in Puebla, Mexico. Me and my dad have a great relationship. My dad had to leave his mom when he was 17 years old. My dad wasn’t able to get his dream job but he wanted to be a Police Officer.

My dad faced many obstacles as a little kid. One obstacle that he went through was poverty, his parents did not have enough money to pay for his education. He had to work at a young age in the fields. Second obstacle is that he didn't want to leave his mom by herself in Mexico. His third obstacle was crossing the border.

My dad’s brothers motivated him to come to the U.S. who had already crossed the border. An accomplishment that my dad achieved was that he made it to the U.S. even though immigration got him once. But he is proud that he’s in the U.S. because he wanted to give a bright future to his family. He got a job once he came to the U.S. Another accomplishment is him being a great dad and raising his children right.

My dad is a positive influence in my life because he works hard everyday to make his family proud. I am very proud for what he´s accomplished. My dad gives great advice to me and my older brother since we're the oldest from my other three young siblings. My dad motivates me to play the sport that he loves which is basketball. He tells me that life isn’t easy and to not give up from my hopes. He doesn’t want any of his children to go through the same thing as he did. I want to be like my dad who never gives up and make my dad proud by graduating from High School something that he couldn’t accomplish.

While interviewing this person I learned that leaving someone behind can be hurtful because you don’t know if you’re ever going to see them again. I also learned that crossing the border wasn’t easy, you feel scared that you might get caught by immigration. I learn that education is very important because not everyone has an education.`
