Feminist Movement By: Riley Bevilacqua

The photo above is a picture of a woman and the quote that goes with this photo is "We can do it". This poster from 1943 was the symbol of the feminist movement in the 1980's.

Feminism is a common goal all women are trying to reach... having equal rights and opportunities as men.

There are 3 waves for Feminism. The first wave of feminism was oriented around the middle to upper class white-woman with involved suffrage and political equality.

The second wave tried to further combat social and cultural inequalities. The second wave brought in women of color and women from other developing nations that were having the same struggles.

The third wave includes renewed campaigning for greater influence of women for politics and media, they maintained focus on women's reproductive rights, like the right to abortion.

Purple for Feminism!!

Women are no different then men, and they should not be treated different. Things like wearing purple for the cause, movements and campaigns can spread the word, the idea.
