Earthquakes Eagles

An earthquake also known as a quake tremor or temblor.Earthquakes are measured using measurements from seismometers. In the winter of 18 and 1812 hit the town of New Madrid.

The moment magnitude is the most common scale on which earthquakes larger than approximately 5 are reported for the entire globe.

The Japanese government has spent millions of dollars each year trying to predict the next quakes.

There are more than 3000 little quakes a day. Some are no larger the a vibration.

Earthquakes are usually coused when rocks underground suddenly breaks along a fault. This sudden release of energy causes the seismic wave that make the ground shake.

The most important parimeter controlling the maximum earthquake magnitude on a fault is however the maximum available length but the available width because the latter varies by a factor of 20.
