MAC News ISSUE 8 2017

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

The weeks have been flying by and here we are halfway through Term 2. It is around this time of the year that we start feeling the chill of winter, and begin bringing out the heaters and electric blankets. For some of us, winter is our favourite season, for some, our least favourite. But there is something we can be sure of; while each and every year we experience Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring, so our lives also go through seasons and transitions.

The Bible tells us that King Solomon was a very wise man, and he had this to say:

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."
Ecclesiastes 3:1

We all go through seasons and transitions in life. Sometimes life is exciting, purposeful and we are enjoying every moment. Sometimes life is heartbreaking, difficult and we want to run away and escape. But God has a plan and a purpose to make our lives beautiful. We can't see what God is doing behind the scenes, or what He is going to do next. In our human condition we are short sighted and we forget that God has promised that He will make everything beautiful in it's time (Ecc 3:11).

But with every change of the season comes a time to rejoice. Because the one constant in life is that everything changes, except God. Though every part of our lives may turn upside down and inside out, God remains the same. The Bible tells us He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8). Whatever season you find yourself in, hold tight to God. He is faithful, and He can be trusted to lead you through all the seasons of your life.

Welcome to Term 2!

“For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalms 100:5 NLT

Can you believe that we are already half way through the term? The year is advancing at a rapid pace! Even so, God is faithful to love us through our busy schedules, our frustrations, daily chores and moods. Not only that, he is faithful to us, and to the generations that follow. I am so happy to serve a faithful God who has love for us with no boundaries!

We have been blessed the last few weeks with some great events. Thank you to all our families for your dedication, support and understanding.

Mother’s Day Celebrations

I want to first of all speak blessings over all our mothers. I cannot begin to understand the daily sacrifices that are made by mothers of our school to support and nurture families to flourish and grow.

We had an amazing Mother’s Day Chapel service in Week 3. Special thanks to Mrs Ruby Beebe for compiling student responses via video footage to bless our mother’s with. That was so beautiful! Also, a huge thank you to Pastor Abigail who organised the service with mothers at the centre of the day. The gifts and cards which were so faithfully decorated by our students deserve thanks as well.

On top of the service we were blessed by the staff of Macarthur Adventist College as they faithfully prepared an amazing breakfast for the mothers of our school community! I want to give my sincerest thanks to the staff members from Primary and Secondary who were so generous with their time and culinary gifts to bless our mothers. WOW! I am so blessed to be a part of this awesome MAC family!

Last but certainly not least, thank you to all the mothers that came to support, to eat and to fellowship at MAC in Week 3. We are blessed by you!

Please see the following announcements for our Primary School:

Hot Food/Cup of Noodles

It has come to our attention that students are bringing foods that require hot water or heating during lunch time. Due to Food Safety requirements, we are unable to cater for the heating up of food or filling noodle cups with hot water. Please arrange for alternative meals to be sent to school or for students to bring their food in containers that allow the heat to be retained until lunch time. Also, if you pack your child a meal from home, please provide a fork or spoon to eat it with, as these are not available to hand out from the Canteen.

Uniform

As a Primary school, we take pride in our appearance and correct uniform is of the utmost importance. Please be aware that your child/ren must wear their correct school uniform at all times. If for some reason your child is not in correct uniform a note must be sent to school indicating the reason. Students without a note will have communication sent home and further consequences can be expected.

For the students who have been chosen to attend the Wests Tigers Gala Day, please come to school in your full winter uniform, and pack your sports uniform to change into after school photos are taken.
