Young People Are The Fruit Of Our Future Empathy in Action over the Baltimore Uprising 2015

Hello, I am Pastor Calvin McCoy of Hope For Tomorrow Deliverance Center in Georgia. “I am called to Teens and College Students. They need to know that you are listening. This is all about their future.”

Maryland Government Officials and the Police Department should know that their controlling authority over young people and the rash judgment of their actions has had a huge impact on our young people’s future. These young people are upset about the way they are being treated. They feel ignored and disrespected because they are young. They are scared, confused and feel that they have nowhere to turn for help. We, as adults, must nurture them to help them become positive role models of their own life. Mayor Rawlings-Blake and Commissioner Batts have placed a label on our youth. But I see room for growth and a time for this to change.

Too often young people are not given a chance to express themselves. We should listen to what they have to say before it is too later.

We should give them the love and support they need. We should teach them how to constructively work through their problems without violence. We should let young people know that they have a voice and they will be heard.

Many people have long advocated for the rights of all young people. But they cannot do it alone. They need all of us to help.

We must step into these young people shoes to understand why they are hurting inside. Given the state of division and protest that Baltimore City is in right now;

We all need to work together to stop these injustices and knock down the walls that divide us from one another.

Baltimore, together we can construct a brighter and happier future for our youth.
