EFAW+P First Aid tailored for Port Operations

First Aid at Work +P

Ports Operations First Aid Training Courses

Modern day port operations involve several professions working together in an environment in close proximity to others, generally focused on their own work rather than that of those around them. The possibility of major injury is never far away and Crane Operator’s, Stevedores, Merchant Seamen and Banksmen may be called to attend an incident that could involve major trauma injuries. Standard First aid courses are unlikely to cover this sufficiently

At CA First Aid, we have a background in the marine environment including time spent with the Royal Engineers working in and around the areas of Chatham Docks and the Medway and as a boat operator to assisting civilian and naval ships operating from the Falkland Islands. We work in Port operations with Smitt International and BP at the Hound Point Tanker terminal

In our tailored First aid at work course (EFAW+P), we have developed a course that is suitable for all industries working in Port Operations. It is one day in duration and takes the standard Emergency First aid at work to a level the reflects the likely injuries and incidents that you would associate with a working with in and around ports and harbours including handling operations associated with aggregates, heavy steel, timber and the general loading, unloading and berthing of merchant shipping

Along with the compulsory basic life support and other subjects involved in first aid at work we will deliver the course in the context of the working environment of a busy modern port and will include specific details in

Major life threatening crush injures

Amputations

Falls From height

Drowning and immersion injuries
