County, State, and Federal Updates

Santa Clara County Anticipated to Move Back to Red Tier Tuesday

Due to a recent spike in cases over the last month, and due to a growing number of those hospitalized with COVID-19 infections, Santa Clara County health officials announced today that we are likely moving back into a more restrictive tier to try and curb infections. More on this development, along with the County's local order including closing indoor dining, can be found here.

How does this impact Mountain View?

As part of the effort to curb the infection rate in Santa Clara County, health officials announced that indoor dining will not be allowed. Also, outdoor bars will be closed, family entertainment centers will be closed, and fitness centers will only be able to operate at 10% capacity. This all takes effect on Tuesday, November 17. Please note that the County may enforce stricter guidelines than the State, and will be updating their resource pages over the weekend. In the meantime, you can see the State's Red Tier guidelines here.

Free Flu Shots

Santa Clara County has committed to providing flu shots, free of charge, to anyone who may need them.

Every Saturday through the middle of December, anyone can drive, bike, or walk up to the clinic, which will be hosted at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, to receive their inoculation.

No appointment needed. More information can be found here.

Stay-at-Home Resources

Times are certainly tough right now, and we are certainly all looking for ways to be the most supportive we can to one another. Here are some reminders about ways to ensure that we are staying as mentally supportive and healthy with each other as possible.

COVID-19 Updates

You may notice that the number of new cases from day to day might not always add up to the cumulative total of cases. This is because the county’s quality control measures and those of the California Department of Public Health may determine a need for reclassification of some cases. These small adjustments are due to changes in results from inconclusive or pending, or duplications in results, and are normal occurrences in the day-to-day collection of complicated data.
