A little about me...

This is 100% biased but after the love you share and the support of your friends and family… photography is the most important thing for a wedding! Having photographs that immortalize the day and emotions as beautiful as they truly were is priceless.

I would describe my photography style as sophisticated, vibrant, sharp, and fun! I strive to always be in the moment. I toe the line between preparation and spontaneity, between timeless and modern, between soft and over the top.... contrast is what makes life interesting. In this moment, I’m so excited to know you, your love story, and the vision you have for your big moment of commitment and celebration. I'm beyond curious. When your big moments come, I can't wait to be there, in it with you, using my point of view and skills to tell your story as beautifully and powerfully as possible. I am passionate about visually communicating your adventure, your love story, what and who you love most.

My husband is a photographer/videographer, so I knew the quest to find someone to photograph our wedding was going to be intense. He found Ashlee and fell in love with her style of photography online. When we went to meet her, I fell in love with her too! I immediately felt at ease with her. She completely nailed the photos from our wedding. She captured the venue and our style better than I could have imagined!

-Lisa & Nick 9/16/16

Ashlee is an absolute gem! I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a fun, creative, extremely talented professional photographer. She was a pleasure to work with and our photos are amazing...couldn't be happier!

-Delissa & Josh 4/8/16

Omg!!! I don’t know where to begin. Ashlee MADE our wedding day perfect! She was an absolute doll to work with she was full of energy and positivity she made me feel beautiful!

Ashlee has a truly unique eye and her work achieves an amazing balance of being both classic and fresh. Not only do I lovingly look at our pictures on a daily basis, but EVERYONE (friends, family, vendors -- my musicians and caterers even emailed me to tell me how beautiful our pictures were) has been mesmerized by our wedding album, which is a fabulous combination of candids and stunning portraits that perfectly captured my family's personality. A friend of mine said it best when she remarked "Wow, what wedding magazine is that from?!" when she spied one of our pictures. "Worth every penny" is an understatement.

-Erica & Phil 4/21/18

It felt like she was part of the bridal party, not some intruder I had to pose fakely and smile awkwardly for. She made everyone feel comfortable...she caught really special moments, really funny moments, and created some altogether unbelievable moments!!

FAQ's

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

I am in the Ybor Heights neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. However I love to frequently travel in and out of the state and even around the world! I'm always up to capture an adventure!

WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?

It’s sophisticated fun! I love both natural light and using portable flash. I take a photo-journalistic but creative approach. I strive to tell the story of your love using details, the big picture, and of course emotive portraiture.

WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

I am proud to say that I am a Fuji shooter! I have 2 Fuji XT2 bodies and 1 power boost grip. I also have a full line up of Fujinon X Series lenses. Including: the 16mm 1.4 (24mm equiv.), 56 mm 1.2 (85mm equiv.), 35mm 2.0 (50mm equiv.), 50-150mm 2.8 (70-200mm equiv.), and macro extention tubes. I also have 3 speed lights: 2 Nissin Di700A's with commanders, and 1 Nissin i60A, + MAGMOD modifiers. I've got my eye on the digital medium format Fuji GFX too! Dear Santa...

DO YOU TRAVEL?

I am based in Tampa Florida but I consistently shoot everywhere between Sarasota and Dade City. As I've said I am more than happy to travel ANYWHERE! I’ve photographed in Colorado, Oregon, Washington State, NYC, Nashvile, Iceland, Turks & Caicos, Australia, Thailand, Bali, and Chile! My passport is up to date and always begging for some new stamps. 2018 will bring me Hawaii so far! Please contact me for more details on specific travel fees.

DO YOU WORK WITH A SECOND SHOOTER OR ASSISTANT?

I work either solo or with an assistant for holding lighting equipment etc. However, I will be the only photographer capturing your wedding or session in almost all cases. I am confident in my abilities to cover the most valuable moments and details of your day and prefer to stay in control of making sure all priorities are covered. This also ensures that the work and quality I deliver is consistent. I take a lot of time and effort at every stage leading to the big day or session to make sure everyone is properly prepared and that a suitable timeline is ready. I say “most cases” because every wedding is unique and sometimes there is a need to divide and conquer. Circumstances in which I will suggest bringing on a second shooter would be: if your wedding is VERY large (200 guests, more than 10 in your wedding party, etc), if your getting ready, ceremony, and reception locations are all separate and/or across town from one another, if covering your cocktail hour is SUPER important, and if you have an interesting ceremony location that would benefit having someone in the rafters sort of speak. I would be happy to share with you full wedding galleries to illustrate what I deliver.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE SEE?

Engagement and portrait clients can expect to see between 80 and 120 images from their 2 hour session lovingly re-touched and ready for printing. Wedding clients can expect an average of 100 final edited images per hour of wedding day coverage.

CAN WE SEE THE OUTTAKES AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT DIDN’T MAKE THE FINAL CUT?

No. I do not deliver images of anyone with closed eyes, malfunctioned lighting, someone walking into the frame etc. Images that did not come out are deleted during the editing process.

DO WE GET THE DIGITALS?

My coveregae on the wedding day includes my time and talent as well as all of your images at high resolution with a print release. For portrait and commercial clients your session fee may or may not include any print released digital files. The rights to the digital files may be purchased individually or in total.

DO WE GET THE RAW OR UNEDITED FILES?

No, these files are not available to you. It would be the same as asking your favorite designer to give you their fabric, sketches, and materials for you to then go home and sew your own dress.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?

Yes. I have liability and business insurance as well as a policy for all of my equipment.

HOW CAN YOU HOLD MY DATE?

To maintain fairness I can only reserve a date once you have booked and paid your 50% non-refundable retainer/deposit.

WHEN CAN I SCHEDULE SESSIONS?

Sessions, such as portrait, maternity, boudoir etc may only be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursdays (Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for wedding events, and Sunday/Monday are strictly for office work and editing).

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

A note about inclement weather: For sessions, once the shoot has started, it cannot be rescheduled. If inclement weather is predicted, we must decide together before the shoot begins to either postpone/reschedule or continue with the shoot that day. In the case of weddings and events I am experienced in working around and with various challenging weather conditions. I also carry supplies to protect my gear and even a clear umbrella for you to pose under. I'm happy to risk my gear and get out there, hopefully you're adventurous too!

DO YOU DO BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY?

Yes! And I love it! My studio partner Regina and I have teamed up to offer a specifically awesome boudoir brand called Offbeat Boudoir. We offer full sessions in our vintage bungalow complete with professional hair and make up, use of our creative backdrops and vintage furnatuire, plus a small centerfold book. Offbeat Boudoir is for the fun and adventurous. We love to be nerdy, artistic, and mood driven. We are also open to intimate portraits with women, men, and couples. Please inquire at www.offbeatboudoir.com or directly at talknerdytome@offbeatboudoir.com
