A wonderful way to enjoy an evening. Our Smith Orchestra performed a wonderful concert. Our 6, 7 and 8th graders showed off their skills with some beautiful choices of music. Thank you to Mrs. Murphy and Mrs. Xydas for all your hard work and dedication to our students.

Mara Mitchell Rocked out the National Anthem at this week's game vs. Boulan on Tuesday!!! Both our 7th and 8th grade teams brought home wins!!!!

Media Center Announcement

Mrs. Chatel is hosting a holiday reading celebration in the media center to advertise Troybery reading and get kids excited about reading over the upcoming break. She is in need of some parent volunteers to help hand out hot cocoa to students on the following dates and times. If you are available, even for an hour, could you email Mrs. Chatel at cchatel@troy.k12.mi.us and let her know that you can help out?

Smith FTC Robotics Teams Announcements

Science Olympiad Announcement

Smith Science Olympiad team started season 2019 in a positive manner by securing the trophy for 5th overall position at the Northview Sylvania (Ohio) invitational yesterday.

Smith MS participated first time in this invitational. Only 1 of 2 teams participated yesterday. Within participating ​ Michigan teams, we came in 2nd just behind Meads Mill MS Northville.

Team secured several individual medals including 2 golds including much sought after Anatomy and Physiology.

We will compete with regional teams again next Saturday (12/14) at Liberty Middle School, Canton.

Parents of Boys Basketball Fans and Student Supporters Announcement

Parents: If students are participating as fans at our after school boys basketball games, please plan to pick up your students attending at 6pm. As we do not have supervision into the evening it is important to pick up students as close to the end of the games as possible. Thank You!

Smith Middle School Homework Help

Smith’s Homework Help and Mentoring program will begin on Tuesday, October 8th. The program will run every Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 7:40-8:10 in room 3. This is a drop-in program for students to get some extra help with their classes. There will be a teacher present as well as student mentors who can assist students with difficult concepts, questions about homework, and organization. If you have any questions, please contract Mr. Pyke (bpyke@troy.k12.mi.us) or Mr. Mele (rmele@troy.k12.mi.us).
