WHY BUSINESS SHOULD LOVE THE FOREST

Forest means more than just a valuable resource to gain economic benefits. Forest is also considered as the best and most inspirational destination to visit. Imagine you are there now. What does it look like? Trees? Flowers? Animals? Spring? Castle? Princess? Forest has it all – and even more to offer. Covering one third of the Earth’s land mass, forests are the most biologically-diverse ecosystems on land, home to more than 80% of species of animals, plants and insects. They also provide shelter, jobs and security for forest-dependent communities.
In accordance with Global Forests Report 2016 by CDP, 24% companies state that on average, a quarter of their revenues depend on commodities linked to forest: cattle, palm oil, soy and timber. While 81% of companies which sit at the top of global commodity supply chains, have experienced impacts related to forest-risk commodities that have resulted in substantive changes to operations, revenue or expenditure in the past five years. Our breathing, drinking, source of materials and pocket somehow connect to forest!
