St. Edmund Rich is born in Abingdom on November 30, 1175 and he died at Soissons, on November 16, 1240. He is the patron saint of Abingdon, Oxfordshire, Roman Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth, St Edmund's College, Cambridge
The church celebrates Saint Edmund Rich feast day on November 20. He studied at Oxford, England, and in Paris, France. He taught art and math at Oxford. He spent eight years of his life teaching theology. He later became Canon and treasurer of Salisbury Cathedral.
