We need immigrants Edwin Fuentes

The United States of America would not be the same without immigrants. Even though you wouldn't admit it, you know it's true. When you think of work do you think about working out in the fields in the hot sun, freezing cold, rainy days, and the uttermost annoying weather days without getting paid? Or do you see yourself waking up at 6 and going to work like a “normal” person? Either way someone has to do the hard jobs in this place. You probably wouldn't have crop foods near you if immigrants had not worked.

Getting rid of immigrants is like getting rid of sugar, without them you would be very bored and stuff would be very calm. I know you might think of hispanic or Latino people as immigrants but that's wrong. Also you might also say “why do we want them? All they do is get drunk and mess up our economy and society.” That's wrong. I speak from personal experience, not every family does that. Also, just for the fun of it, I've realized that hispanic or Latino people have very good humor. Back to track however, immigrants is what makes up this country. Without it, it wouldn't be what it is today.

If all undocumented people didn't go to work or pay for anything on one day, that would be 22.4 million people staying home and doing nothing. And that comes out to 14.7% of US population. Not only would money be very slow that day, but also work would be very different as well. Extra hours would be needed to be filled in, causing chaos. Businesses would be shut down if the owners were to be deported as well.

I know some people who say “immigrants just take away our jobs!” That's not quite true. In 2010 the unemployment rate in construction was over 20%. Business decided to employ the new foreign workers and they adapted quickly. This eventually landing them their visas to stay in the country. Others say “immigrants cause the government to pay more for them and making us lose more money!” That again, isn't true. According to an article from Epi.org, “Unauthorized immigrants are a net positive for public budgets because they contribute more to the system than they take out.” The undocumented people still pay their taxes no matter what. They still give back what they need too. Undocumented people do not steal your money… they work hard for what they have and they understand what they need to do afterwards m. In 2015, the undocumented employees of any work space overall payed a total of $100 billion dollars worth of income taxes. Now imagine the country without those 22.4 million people and eventually without that $100 billion.

A study was done in 2014 that showed that immigrants drove the workforce expansion up from 10% in 2004 to 47% in 2014. Not only did that create more jobs but it also gave the economy more money in return from the new employees that had employed. It was basically a win win situation.

United States needs immigrants. Immigrants make up the United States. They are the ones who keep the country running and help the country be what it is today. They work fairly and don't take away anything from the hard working american class.

If immigrants were not allowed in the United States, you would not have a place to sleep or buildings for that matter. No landscaping, not as many companies working, not that many businesses. Immigrants get far in this country, but they are also easily stopped, especially with our president now, with one word. Immigrant. Don't be the reason why they get stopped.
