The Light horse breed

All Thoroughbreds come from only three foundation stallions the Godolphin Arabian, Byerly Turk and Darly Arabian.

The Thoroughbred is a type of light horse breed mostly used in the racing industry. They come from England where native mares were cross bred with Arabian, Barb, and Turkoman stallions. Thoroughbreds are known for be tall, slim and having an athletic build. They stand between 16.2 and 17 hands tall.

Good-quality Thoroughbreds have a well-chiseled head on a long neck, high withers, a short back and long legs. Trainer in the racing industry often look at these characteristics to decide if the horse can win.

The Belgian draft originated in the Brabant region of Belgium. It's used mainly for pulling and riding. Belgian drafts are known to be one of the strongest breeds making them perfect as a work horse.

Most Belgian horses stand between 16.2 and 17 hands tall. But the world largest horse is a Belgian draft named Big Jack. He stands at 20.2 1/3 hands tall. On average the Belgian grows to weigh slightly over 2000 pounds.

The welsh pony

The Welsh Pony and Cob are a group of four closely related horse breeds

The welsh pony/cob are sectioned in to four groups, Welsh Mountain Pony (Section A), the Welsh Pony (Section B), the Welsh Pony of Cob Type (Section C), and the Welsh Cob (Section D). They are used for riding, driving, and showing. They are make great all around riding ponies.

They originate from Wales in the United Kingdom. Welsh breeds have had many uses, including as a cavalry horse, a pit pony, and as a working animal on farms. They can be as small as 11 hands to as big as 16 hands. Their movement is bold, free and characteristically fast, they have very powerful hind ends that allow their bold movement.
