MANAGEMENT SERVICES

HOMELESS PLAN UPDATE

City staff and its consultant are in the midst of conducting and scheduling meetings with stakeholders. There will be a total of seven stakeholder meetings with various community leaders to discuss homelessness in Temple City. Stakeholder meetings will conclude mid-August.

The consultant (Focus Strategies) will use data collected and stakeholder input provided to draft a memo on existing conditions in Temple City. This memo will be incorporated into the City's final homeless plan.

Staff will continue to provide key benchmarks and other updates in subsequent reports. The plan has a scheduled Council presentation on December 2020 completion date; this timing will allow the City to pursue state and local funding for implementation beginning in mid-2021.

City staff contacted the first batch of businesses asking them to submit the required paperwork by July 23. Staff will be reviewing documents to see if businesses qualify for the program. If any of these businesses do not qualify or do not wish to participate, City staff will move on to the next group of businesses on the waiting list.

Given the limited federal funding, the City is no longer accepting interest forms for this program.
