Squid Lips Strategy Workshop 02.08.17


Squid Lips is a seafood bar & grille with two locations in Melbourne and Sebastian, FL. These are both vacation destinations, so our goal is to attract tourists and local return customers. We use Local Awareness Ads targeted to people around the restaurant to create buzz and let Facebook users know where the business is located.

The Ad


For Squid Lips ads, we feature images of their beautiful beachfront location and delicious food to grab the attention of local Facebook users. Targeting is the most important part of this strategy because we need to grab customers near or around both locations from their central Facebook page.


We are using a seven mile radius around the restaurant and an age range of 21 to 65+. We’ve decided to go up to ages 65+ because a lot of people in that demographic are retired and visiting the area. We are also reaching out to people who have the following interests: bars, alcoholic beverages, seafood dishes, food and drink, seafood restaurant or seafood.


Total spent was $57.95, $1.20 cost per 1,000 impressions, relevance of 6, 205 clicks, 7,406 reach, 30,625 impressions and 35 check-in to the Squid Lips page from this ad. From the 35 check-ins, we can assume that each check-in spent at least $10 when dining with Squid Lips. This would lead to at least $350 in revenue for Squid Lips from the ad.
