PG Basketball started the day off with an 84-77 win in Charlotte, N.C., that completed a two-game sweep over Pfeiffer University. Lamont McManus led the squad with 24 points and 14 rebounds. The squad currently sits 16-3 on the season and returns home Friday, Jan. 27 to host Combine Academy at 6:45 p.m.

We had two tough games against a really good Pfeiffer University team. They wanted to push the tempo and play fast, so we had to work hard to get back on defense. Overall, our guys played tough and were able to get two good wins on the road." -- Coach Donohue

Junior Prep continued Fork Union's successful day with a 50-37 victory over Christchurch Friday afternoon at the Thomas Gym. Iosefa Pua'auli led the squad with 17 points. Fork Union is 7-4 on the season and hosts Benedictine Friday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m.

"Our guys came out with the right mindset and attitude and it showed. We were able to get ahead on Christchurch early and cruise to a satisfying victory. Everyone contributed in what was a solid team effort." -- Coach Barnette

Prep capped off the day with a 49-46 win over the Seahorses. The two teams were back and forth throughout the contest as Detwon Shelton led the Blue Devils to victory with 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Antonia Pua'auli-Pelham and Julius Smith both followed with nine points apiece.

"It felt good to get a much needed Prep League win. Our team came out strong in the first half, but we are still struggling to play a complete game. I was proud how we came together at the end to hold on to the lead and get the victory." -- Coach Pelham

Fork Union (4-7) will be back in action Friday, Jan. 27 when it hosts Combine Academy at 4:45 p.m.
