There are a ton of opportunities available to teachers, allowing them to build their own careers around subjects they love, and teach at levels they’re interested in.

Overall national employment of elementary, middle and high school teachers is projected to grow 4 percent from 2019 to 2029, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Rising student enrollment should increase demand but employment growth will vary by region. (BLS Apr 9, 2021)

Washington State ranks #1 as the best state to be a teacher!

According to wallethub.com, Washington's overall score of 56.28 makes it the best state in the U.S. for teachers, ranking second for Opportunity & Competition and tenth for Academic & Work Environment. Teachers in Washington make an average of $72,965 a year, the sixth-highest in the country. The average pupil-to-teacher ratio in Washington is 18:1, which is higher than the national average of about 16:1 but is still lower than in other states.

ASCEND TO THE FUTURE OF FASHION

SCAD students are redefining the fashion show for a new virtual age, as they transform their top senior collections into a high concept fashion film "The Awakening," directed by SCAD graduate Jess Farran (B.F.A., photography, 2017), as part of SCAD FASHION 2021. The event is a cross-disciplinary collaboration among fashion, motion media design, film and television, and sound design students and alumni. Watch the world premiere of "The Awakening" on Friday, May 14, 1 p.m. ET.

MILITARY SPOTLIGHT:

PARATROOPER- A MILTARY PARACHUTIST

A paratrooper is someone trained to parachute into an operation, and usually functioning as part of an airborne force. Military parachutists (troops) and parachutes were first used on a large scale during World War II for troop distribution and transportation. Paratroopers are often used in surprise attacks, to seize strategic objectives such as airfields or bridges.
